Feature 2: Cycling Silk

These first two spreads are the opener and jump.

The article is an inspiration piece about a woman who has done long distance cycling in seven continents. She is preparing to embark on a 5,000 mile journey along the Silk Route beginning in Italy and ending in India. The expedition is meant to explore and advocate for transboundary conservation as a force for peace.

The rest are alternate openers and jumps.

  1. hmm.

headline typography just isn't working for me on any of these.

sans serif bold is too condensed.

    script is too girly.

sans serif light is too round.

or not cut well or doesn't look good here.

maybe archer looks fine, but do we want to default to archer?

    it always works, dammit.

    dunno.

don't do a story start on a full spread bleed photo.

start the story on the jump spread.

and, if you feel you want to use this many photos, perhaps add a third spread so you can work the photos a bit better.

like the little squares, but not sure that's what you want to show in this piece?

try a few options with different scale images.

    good.
